Hi
I use the option "tag spam in subject & deliver" to prevent that e-mails with false positive are placed in quarantine.
Since the SPF test is very efficient in "catching" spams (hardly a false positive occurs), an option could exist, to reject e-mails that fail in SPF test, for isp's that use the option "tag spam in subject & deliver" (like me), this will save bandwidth.
Thanks
Leandro

We actually had added it to the wish list already, and were waiting for
other users to comment so we could get a "feel" for the request.
In our opinion the SPF filter does occasionally cause false positives
as well (unfortunately no filter is 100% reliable...). A typical
example are users who go to cnn.com and either email themselves or
their friends the story. When they do so they will put their email
address as the sender. Unfortunately CNN uses a 3rd party service
(clickability.com), whose administrators do not know much about spam
and do not care if the email gets delivered. This 3rd party sends an
email to the recipients "faking" the FROM address and placing as the
sender the user's email address. As clickability.com is probably not an
authorized server for the sender's ISP, the SPF filters will cause the
email to be rejected.
Due to this, we believe the SPF is no different in regards to
reliability to many of other filtering techniques we use. So adding an
option to bypass the "tag spam and deliver" setting should not be made
just for that filter. If we did that, the very next dat we'd be
receiving requests for similar functionality on other filters as well.
For this reason we've added it to the wish list, but are waiting to
implement it on a more general scale, possibly giving the option to all
other fitlers as well. But please note that this is just a wish list,
and not always entries in it are placed in SpamFilter.
